Description Azolla is a tiny floating fern present everywhere in theenvironment. It is used as source of organic manure and Nsupplier to rice (O,yza sativa L.). The practice ofincorporation of Azolla in India seems to be more effectivethan dual culture. Ten tonnes of fresh azolla/ha is as sufficientas basal application of 25 kg N/ha (Singh 1992), Applicationof azolla may supplement N requirement of crop and improvesoil properties. Therefore it is esseitnal to study the effect ofAzolla on wheat (Triticum aestivum L. emend. Fiori & Pao1.)yield and soil properties.
