The extreme responders of G2 of both high and low IC-index line were evaluated for immunoresponsiveness to NDV vaccine using ELISA from the serum samples collected at weekly intervals from 7 to 42 dpi. The line had significant (P≶0.05) effect on titres at 14 and 42 dpi. The peak titre was observed at 14 dpi in both the lines for primary vaccination to NDV. For secondary response, the peak titre was observed at 42 dpi in high line and 35 dpi in low line. The line × sex interaction was significant at 14 and 21 dpi, indicating that the difference between the sexes across the lines were not similar. Selection for birds' immunocompetence along with other economic traits may be used in genetic improvement of immunoresponsiveness. Not Available |
