Recently a Symposium was held. under the auspices of t he National Institute of Sciences of India on the' Satpnra Hypothesis of the Distribution of Malayan Fauna and Flora to Peninsular India', (Hora. et al., 1949) containing contributions from different sciences, such as, Geology, Meteorology, Botany and Zoology.
