Description An experiment was conducted during rainy seasons of 2002 and 2003 to study response of 2 new maize hybrids to fertilizer levels and plant densities maintained at different growth stages. Underprevailing agroclimatic condition PEHM 2' recorded higher grain (0.34 tonne/ha) and stove (0.50 tonne/ ha) yield as compared to that of 'PERM l' (0.29 and 0.43 tonne/ha respectively). The 'PHEM 2'also recorded higher value of yield parameters along with net return and B:C ratio over the of 'PERM 1'. Maintenance of 83 plantslha right from sowing proved optimum and econocically viable closely followed by 83 000 plantslha maintained through thinning at 30 days after sowing. Application of125% recommenede dose proved to be optimum dose of fertilizer for 2 new early maturing hybrids under agroclimatic condition of Udaipuf in Rajasthan.
