Description French bean (phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar 'Lakshmi' taken higher number of days to 50% flowering and resultedin significantly higher number of pods/plant and green pod yield over 'SVM 1' and 'Kentucky Wonder'. Significantincrease in plant height and leaf area index, nodules/plant, number of branches/plant, number of pods/plant and greenpod yield was noted when inoculated with Rhizobium phaseoli.Inoculation significantly decreased days to 50% flowering.Residual effect of inoculation on onion (Allium cepa L.) bulb yield was also significant. Fertilizer level of NPK@75.0,64.5, 62.3 kg/ha also increased french bean yield significantly. Residual effect of fertilizer levels showed that onionbulb yield increased significantly with increase in NPK level up to 75.0:64.5:62.3 kg/ha. Cultivar 'Lakshmi' was thehighest yielder at NPK level of 75.0, 64.5, 62.3 kg/ha in presence of Rhizobium inoculation.
