Description A field trial was conducted during 1985-95 to assess the nutritional requirement. 'Totapuri' mango (Mangiferaindica) under rainfed condition at Banglore. Results of a this field trial suggested that, N application significantlyinfluenced the tree growth and fruit yield of young 'Totapuri' trees under rainfed conditions while P and Kapplication did not. Average fruit size and total soluble solids of pulp were significantly influenced by N nutritionduring the tenth year but other fruit quality attributes were unaffected by the nutrient levels when applied alongwith common dose of 8.6 g P and 58.1 g K/tree/year of age. Nitrogen at 50g/tree/year of age resulted in the bestcanopy development while at 100g/tree/year of age gave maximum fruit yield and was economical to apply. Treegrowth and yield were very poor when N was not applied and also with very high N doses. P application waseconomical only at higher doses while K application did not reveal any beneficial effect for the young trees of'Totapuri' mango.
