Application of a low magnitude charge to the column enhanced the efficiency of a newly designed column increased by 26-100%. The capacity of the adsorbents entrapped in the column matrix also showed an increase of 74-87% after the application of electric charge. This is first reported on design and trial of a prototype with an electrically charged column bed for the removal of a toxic ionic species. The developed technology can be scaled up to the desired extent by increasing the bed volume. Not Available |
