Description |
A study was carried out in summer season of 2004 to judge the effect of boron, zinc, molybdenum, copper, iron, manganese, mixture of all and multiplex through foliar sprays on plant growth, fruit and seed yield of tomato. All rhe treatments were given at a concentration of 100 ppm starting from 30 days after transplanting and repeated twice at 10 days interval. The recommended dose of NPK. i e 100 kg N. 75 kg P20, and 55 kg K,O/ha were uniformly applied in all the treatments including control where no spray of micronutrients was done. All the characters. plant height (cm). days taken to first flowering, number of branched plant, fruit/plant. fruit yiel/plant, yield/ha, seed yield plant/ha and 1 000 seed weight except seed vigour index showed significant variations. Foliar application of boron @ 100 ppm concentration 30 days after transplanting and repeated at 10 days interval twice was found most effective for growth and seed yield with net returns of Rs. 150811/ha with cost: benefit ratio of 1: 2.13.
