Description |
Studies were conducted to isolate endophytic fungi from some commercially grown banana cultivars and germplasms comprising diploids, triploids and tetraploids. In vitro biocidal effects of endophytic fungi were also studied with culture filtrates of root-lesion nematode (Pratylenchus coffeae) and root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita). The endophytic fungi isolated from banana roots and corms were identified as Fusarium spp. in all the banana accessions.
