Description A field experiment was conduced during the rainy season of 1994- 95 and 1995-96 to evalutate the effect of phosphate solubilizing-bacteria and farmyard mannure on the yield of blackgram (Phaseolus mungo L.) under different fertility levels. Yield and yield components of 'RU2' blackgram increased signigicantly with the application of N.P and K @ 20,26.20 and 16.66 kg/ha respectively. Phosphate-solubilizing bacteria inoculation @ 10 g/kg seed and farmyard manure @ 5 tonnes/ha both singly and incombination gave a significant increase in yield and its attributes compared with theĀ  control. Application of phosphate- solubilizing bacteria (10 g/kg seed) combined with farmyard manure (5 tonnes/ha) gave the maximum grain (819 kg/ha) and straw (1 200 kg/ha) yields, Application of N,P, and K @ 20. 26.20 and 16.66 kg/ha, respectively, phosphate-solubilizing bacteria inocluation with farmyard manure gave highest gram (1 001 kg/ha) yield, At N15 P19 6S and K125- phosphate-solubilizing bacteria and farmyard manure both individually and in combination produced higher yield than N20 P26 20 and K16 66 without phosphate-solubilizingĀ  bacteria and farmyard manure.
