Yesterday, widespread rainfall (>75% places) received in 4 sub-divisions viz., Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Rayalaseema and South Interior karnataka. In this year, the southwest monsoon season (June-September) rainfall status of the country as a whole has concluded at 9% excess compared to normal. However, the cumulative seasonal rainfall was deficient in 43 districts of East & Northeast India, 103 districts in Northwest India, 17 districts in Central India and 5 districts in South Peninsular India. The cumulative southwest monsoon rainfall was large excess in 2, excess in 13, normal in 16 and deficient in 5 out of 36 meteorological sub-divisions in India. Not Available |
