In view of significant reduction in rainfall activity over most parts of the country the Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country today the 28th October 2020. • Simultaneously with the setting in of northeasterly winds in the lower tropospheric levels, the northeast monsoon rains has commenced over extreme south peninsular India today the 28th October 2020. • A cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu coast in lower & mid tropospheric levels. • Under its influence, scattered rainfall with moderate thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Kerala & Mahe and Tamil Nadu & Puducherry during next 5 days with isolated heavy falls over south Tamil Nadu during next 2 days and over south Kerala during next 24 hours. • Dry weather expected over rest of the country during next 4 to 5 days.
