Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, entire
Bihar, northern parts of West Bengal & Sikkim, northern parts of Jharkhand, north
Chhattisgarh, some parts of east Madhya Pradesh and more pats of West Madhya
Pradesh on today, the 21st October, 2020.
• The withdrawal line of the Southwest Monsoon passed through Lat.
27°N/Long.90°E, Cooch Behar, Sriniketan, Ranchi, Pendra Road, Mandla,
Narsinghpur, Indore, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Porbandar, Lat.21°N/Long.65°E and
Lat.21°N/Long.60°E.
• Conditions are continuing to become favourable for further withdrawal of
Southwest-Monsoon from remaining parts of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and
Gujarat, some parts of Chhattisgarh, some parts of Odisha and north Maharashtra
during next 3-4 days.
• The Low pressure Area over Central parts of Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood
now lies as a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal &
neighbourhood. It is very likely to move northwestwards during next 24 hours
and north-northeastwards thereafter towards West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts
across Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast during subsequent 48 hours. It is
likely to concentrate into a Depression by tomorrow, the 22 October, 2020 and
further into a Deep Depression during the subsequent 24 hours.
• The east-west trough now runs roughly along 15°N across peninsular India at
lower & middle tropospheric levels. It is very likely to persists during next 3 days.
Under the influence of above systems:
1. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy fall
very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, isolated heavy over Telengana, North
Interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu on today, the 21 October; isolated heavy falls is
also likely over Coastal & south Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema on 21 & 22
October, 2020.
2. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy fall very likely
over Coastal Odisha till 23 October, isolated heavy falls over Gangetic West

Bengal on 22 & 23 and over Northeast India from 22 to 24 October, 2020. Isolated
very heavy rainfall is also likely over coastal Odisha on 22nd & over West Bengal
on 23rd October, 2020. Also, isolated Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely
falls over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 22nd & 23rd and over
Assam & Meghalaya on 23rd October, 2020.
3. Fishermen are advised not to venture into Westcentral Bay of Bengal till 22nd;
North Bay of Bengal during 22nd-24th; along & off north Andhra Pradesh-south
Odisha coasts during 21st & 22nd; along & off north Odisha-West BengalBangladesh coasts during 22nd-23rd October, 2020.
