The western end of monsoon trough is south of its normal position and its eastern end near its normal position at mean sea level. It is very likely to shift gradually northwards along the foothills of Himalayas during next 24 hours. In addition, convergence of south westerlies/southerlies winds from Bay of Bengal at lower tropospheric levels continues over northeast & east India and convergence of south westerlies/southerlies winds from Arabian Sea at lower tropospheric levels very likely over northwest India from today, the 9th July, onwards. • Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over Western Himalayan Region, northern parts of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and northeastern states. Isolated extremely heavy falls are also very likely over Uttarakhand on 11th & 12th; East Uttar Pradesh during 10th to 12th; Bihar on 10th & 11th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during, Assam & Meghalaya Arunachal Pradesh and during 09th to 11th July, 2020. • Intense thunderstorm & lightning potential zone: Moderate to intense thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, coastal Tamilnadu, Telangana and interior Karnataka during next 12 hours.
