Description |
Walnut (Juglans regin L.) seedlings were whip and tongue grafted with scion of walnut cultivars and selections during 2001-2004. The graft unions were heated with hot callusing cable at 25°C. The differences in graft success between February (83.9%) and March (79.5%) were not significant. Genotype and quality of stock and scion highly affected the graft success. In the nursery conditions, the average graft take was 77.1%, and the range was between 62.5% and 88.7% for 21 genotypes.
