Precise estimate on grasslands area, extent and conditions, forage and production can be generated with the help of remotely sensed satellite data, Geographical lnformation System (GlS) and Global position System (GPS). ln the present study of Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh, lndia was found that about 12.3g% area was under grasslands. The spatial distribution was presented in map using ArcGlS. The forage production (2.i2 DM V ha) and grazing pressure (7.86 ACU/ha) was estimated for livestock based developmental plan.
