Description |
The 1 1 genotypes of opium poppy (Papnver soinrzijet-urn L.) were evaluated for opium yield, seed yield and morphine content over 5 environments during crop years 1999-2000 to 2003-2004 to identify stable and promising genotypes which can sustain adverse climaticlenvironmental conditions. The assessment of stability and adaptability was calculated based on non-parametric model. The genotypes 'BR 238', 'BR 333' and 'BR229' for opium yield, 'BR 333', 'BR328', 'BR 229' and 'BR 243' for seed yield and %R328', 'BR330' and 'BR 313' for morphine content were considered as stable and well adapted to all environments was the most stable and high yielding genotype. However the genotypes 'BR 3 13 ', 'BR 336', %R 307' and 'BR 291' for opium yield, 'BR 313' and 'BR 238' for seed yield and 'BR 238', 'BR 336', and 'BR 333' for morphine content revealed that these genotypes could respond greater resistance to environmental changes and, therefore, increase the specificity of adaptability to low yielding environments.
