Zinc concentrations were examined in different organs of female Indian white shrimps (Penaeus indicus) in different stages of gonadal maturation. Wild P. indicus were collected and identified according to their stages (I-IV) by visual examination. Zinc concentration was examined in all the organs and the results showed an increase in zinc concentration during ovarian maturation. The gills had the highest zinc concentration, followed by hepatopancreas, ovary, and lowest in the muscle and exoskeleton. During gonadal maturation, zinc concentration increased significantly (P Not Available |
