Description The study was conducted during 2004-05 to elucidate intra-accession variation present in individuals of wild Cicer species for resistance to botrytis gray mold. Individual plants of six wild Cicer spp and their accessions were evaluated for resistance to botrytis gray mold following cut twig screening technique. Inter-accession variability among the different species was observed and is known to exist. In the present studies intra-accession variation for resistance to botrytis gray mold was also observed. The resistant plants maintained their resistance in the subsequent generation. The study suggested for calibration for reaction to botrytis gray mold of individual plant progeny of a wild Cicer spp for their use in crossing programme and selection and maintenance of resistant types.
