Description |
The study was carried out on 'T & D' (Tamworth and desi) breed of pigs on different feeding practices to evaluate growth performances. The pigs maintained on concentrate feed had higher weight gain than those maintained on hotel and rice fermented wastes during preweaning period. However, higher weight gain during postweaning periods from 3rd to 10th month of age was observed in piglets maintained on hotel waste with 25% concentrate feed. The crude protein content was significantly higher (25.01 to 26.23%) in hotel wastes rations in comparison to concentrate (18.60%) and ricefermented (18.76%) groups. Significantly highest calcium (1.15 to 1.31 %) and phosphorus (0.52 to 0.61 %) values were obtained in concentrate and hotel waste feeds.
