Description |
Correlations were worked out to establish interrelationship of micro-nutrient content of 150 soil samples collected from 10 randomly selected villages representing whole Jind district with feedstuffs grown on these soils. Soil Cu content had significant positive correlation with Cu content of green berseem, sorghum stover, wheat straw and wheat flour. Soil Zn was significantly correlated with Fe content of sorghum stover and wheat flour and Mn content of berseem. wheat straw and wheat flour. Soil Fe content had significant positive correlation wilh Fe content of berseem, Cu and Fe content of wheat straw, Fe content of wheat flour and Mn content of sorghum. Interestingly soil Fe and Mn were having significantly negative correlation with Zn content of berseem. Mn also had significant positive correlation with Fc of whent straw and wheat flour. These observations indicated that only Cu and Fe content of soil significantly affected their respective concentrations in feedstuffs. Soil Zn and Mn did not affected their respective concentrations in feedstuffs. Soil Zn and Mn did not affect their respective contents in feedstuffs, but had positive effect on the concentration of other trace elements. Higher Fe and Mn content of soil adversely affected the Zn content of the feedstuffs grown on such soils.
