Description Climate Information Services (CIS) are decision-making support tools that provide information including scientific weather and climate forecasts, market prices, and adaptive practices directly to users. By providing real-time information to support agricultural decisions it is believed that productivity can be increased and incomes and livelihoods can be improved.

While CIS holds promise in the developing world, there are barriers to uptake and gaps in understanding including how CIS interacts with local knowledge or other sources of climate information. At the same time, there is insufficient literature on the limitations of CIS. This research aims to narrow those gaps and advance the conversation through a case study in the Meouane district of Senegal.
