Aldol condensation is adopted for the synthesis of sugar chalcone derivatives from <em>b</em>-C-glycosidic ketones with various aromatic aldehydes under basic condition with both conventional as well as microwave condition. Microwave assisted reaction gave an excellent yield. Products obtained were characterized using (<sup>1</sup>H, <sup>13</sup>C) and elemental analysis. Sugar chalcone derivatives exhibited an excellent antibacterial activity.S<div></div> |
