A healthy handloom industry requires a broad and varied production range, design intervention and appropriate marketing mechanisms for higher marketability. Instead of producing traditional stuff, new product range in handloom sector along with fusion of different motifs can able to catch the interest of domestic and international market. New product range namely area rug, cushion cover, runner, placemat and placemat sets, tapestry or wall hangings that are developed under AICRP project are found to have very good consumer acceptance.
