In this research, the corresponding isocoumarin derivatives have been synthesized by tandem intramolecular cyclization
of methyl 2-(phenylethynyl)benzoate 1 with ethyl acrylate. This process involves the synthesis of compounds 3-9 from
compound 1 and 2 in one-pot reaction and zinc triflate as catalyst. The antioxidant properties of the synthesized isocoumarin
have also been investigated by DPPH method.
