Advent in the computational field has expedited to understand structural level information of proteins and their
global network. In the present study, evolutionary and structural analysis of kisspeptin2 of Indian major carp, Catla catla were carried out using bioinformatics tools. The kisspeptin2 protein plays an important role in puberty leading to development in production. Kisspeptin2 protein is encoded by KISS2 gene, and it binds with the receptor kisspeptin. We have analyzed the physico-chemical and structural properties of both protein and receptor. The multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic tree were constructed in CLC genomic workbench using neighbor joining methods and depicted kisspeptin protein sequence conservation across several species. The 3D models of proteins generated using PHYRE2, followed by validation using Ramapage. Further, energy minimization was performed of the protein for stabilizing its potential energy. In order to understand global network of Kisspeptin2, we have used STRING9.1 tool and speculated that this protein interacting with several other with kiss1ra, gnrh3, etnk1, kiss1, kiss1rb, gys2, paqr8, lhb, cbr1l, s1c6a4a etc. Interestingly, we have identified that ILE-61 and TRP-102 found to be the best active site where both the protein and receptor binds to each other via molecular docking. Moreover, we have identified post-translational modification sites in kisspeptin2. In this study, we have generated useful structural level information to undertake further in vivo study
