Vegetables are the most important to human diet for better health. This study was carried out in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh to identifies and analyse the constraints in commercial cultivation of temperate vegetables. Among the production constraints, ‘availability of recommended technologies’ ranked first followed by ‘labour shortage as per needs’. Without the availability technologies, the production of vegetable did not increase and without this so many problems may occurs in vegetable production. Third major constraint is the ‘Proper knowledge about disease or insect-pests’ followed by ‘Crop damaged by diseases or insect-pests’, ‘Proper channel for communication’ and ‘Availability of proper irrigation facilities’ were ranked fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. In the economic constraints, ‘Proper price of the crops’ was major constraint followed by ‘Proper transportation facilities’. Other constraints ‘proper markets for sold the crops’, ‘Shortage of money for vegetable production’ and ‘Interference the middleman in the marketing’ were other constraints ranked third, fourth and fifth.
