Description |
Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) is an important oilseed crop next to groundnut in India. There is a wide gapbetween demand and supply of edible oil. Major emphasis of Brassica breeding programme has been on improvingproductivity in terms of seed yield and oil content. Yield is a complex character involving a number of componentswhich are quantitative in nature. Success of any breeding programme depends on the efficiency of selection of thosecharacters which have a maximum degree of positive influence with the other traits of interest. The present investigationwas undertaken to estimate the correlations among the traits, their direct and indirect effect on yield
