Description |
This layer group describes multibeam echosounder data collected on RV Investigator voyage IN2016_E01 titled "East Tasman Plateau – key to unravelling the onset of the Antarctic Circumpolar Currents". The voyage took place between August 17 and August 22, 2016, departing from Hobart (TAS) and arriving in Hobart (TAS). The purpose of this voyage was to dredge volcanic and sedimentary rocks to obtain new, rigorous age and paleo-depth constraints for the Cascade Seamount. Underway bathymetric data was be used to refine dredge targets. Sediment cores were collected across a depth transect to enable work investigating paleo-oceanographic conditions using proxies. High resolution swath bathymetry and sub-bottom profile data were used to see how far recent sediment flows extend from the Cascade Seamount. This dataset is published with the permission of CSIRO. Not to be used for navigational purposes. The dataset contains bathymetry grids of 10m to 210m resolution of the East Tasman Plateau, produced from the processed EM122 and EM710 bathymetry data. |
