Description Studies were undertaken to compare a computer programme (Neway) and graphical method (fitting a curve by eye) forcalculation of degradation characteristics and effective degradability of crude protein. organic matter and dry matter in 7forage crops. There was no significant difference in the elTective degradability values and degradation characteristics exceptfor b values (insoluble but potentially degradable fraction) of dry matter and organic matter.
