Report on the work of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) since its meeting in May 1998, which was held in conjunction with the CGIAR Mid Term Meeting 1998. The report was presented by Global Forum Steering Committee Chair R.S. Paroda at CGIAR International Centers Week 1998.The report described GFAR's progress in promoting the participation and representation of its regional constituencies, and in bringing two secretariats (one each for the NARS and Global Forum steering committees) into operation., and creating an electronic forum. It also responded to the System Review, which attributed great significance to the role of GFAR in promoting partnerships between NARS, NGOs, ARIs, and IARCs in international agricultural research.
