Description The buccal glands in goat were arranged in dorsal, middle and ventral rows. The dorsal buccal gland was lanceolate in shape and located in front ofthe masseteric groove over the buccinator muscle. The middle buccal gland was quadrilateral in shape and extended in front ofthe masseteric groove. The ventral buccal gland was triangular to prismatic in shape and was located on lateral aspect of the horizontal ramus of mandible. The labial glands were grouped as commissural, superior and inferior labial glands. The commissural labial glands were present under the skin along the angle ofmouth. The superior labial glands were sub-grouped into external and rostral (naso-Iabial glands) zones. The former was wider toward the commissure and tapering rostrally while the latter was wider at philtrum and narrower toward the commissure. The inferior labial glands were the continuation of the commissural labial glands into the inferior labium.
