Description |
Utilization of wheat offal as substitute for maize grain was investigated in 8-week study, with 20 healthy weaner pigs of mixed oreeds and. sexes using 5 weaner swine diets. The diets were DT 1 (control) which contained maize grain as the major source of dietary energy and DT 2, DT 3, DT 4 and DT 5 in which maize was replaced at 25, 50, 75 and 100% levels, respectively, by wheat offial, There were 4 replicates per diet with 1 weanner pig perĀ replicate. Significant (P0.05) was observed in feed conversion ratio. Therefore, replacement of maize grain by wheat offal in the diet of weaner pigs is beneficial and most cost effective at 5% level.
