Description |
Tne cows that calved in summer and the buffaloes calved in rainy season had highest incidence of mastitis. Season of infection followed similar trend as that of season of calving. The season of calving and season of infection had significant effect on the incidence of mastitis. The incidence of mastitis was highest in early lactation in Sahiwal cows and buffaloes, and late lactation in crossbreds (KS and KF). The incidence of mastitis was highest in Karan Swiss, Karan Fries and Sahiwal cows among high, medium and low level of production respectively. The machine-milked cows had highest incidence of mastitis than hand-milked cows.
