Description The study was conducted on 6 crossbred buffalo calves below 1year ofage. The lead acetate was given @25 mg/kg body weight orally for 7 days. All calves died after showing symptoms of lead toxicity. The tissue samples from heart were collected and stored in liquid nitrogen. Cryostat sections of 10 Jlm thickness were obtained and incubated tor activities of oxidoreductases. The study revealed marked loss of SDH and CYO, slight loss of NADPH and slight increase in LDH activity in cardiac muscle fibres.
