The strategy presented addressed agroecological zones, types of production systems, research priorities and institutions including crop oriented IARCs, extension, education, and support, as well as environmental issues. This study was discussed at TAC 56 in October 1991, and was revised for further discussion at TAC 58 in June 1992.
