in the recent past due to the progressive quality concepts of seafood consumers. Live fish transportation depends on several internal and external factors which need
to be considered critically for improving survival as
well as quality during transportation. The lack of a systematic approach for live fish transportation, from on-farm
handling to marketing, is the most significant issue
faced by the stakeholders. This article provides an integrated insight into the current state of knowledge in
the field of live transportation of food fishes emphasizing the significance, present status, challenges and exploration possibilities.
