India is a country of diversities and these diversities and colours of culture are often seen in the Indian plate and food. India has a rich tradition of consuming millets since ancient times. Coarse grain crops are among the oldest crops cultivated by mankind. These millets have been a major food source since the past. According to the present scenario, we have been hit by the biggest pandemic of the century, Corona, which has put a question mark on our life, health and food security. Climate change is also standing before us as an effective factor on food availability, in such a situation there is a need for a global movement to promote the production of millets as this millet consumes less water and withstands all weather conditions are taken and it is easy to grow them. Shree Anna's farming is favourable for climate, cost, farmer and consumer. Balanced nutrients and sources of nutrition are found in abundance in coarse grains, which are beneficial for human health and are easy to digest. Millets are important not only for our health but also because of their immense potential to generate livelihoods, enhance farmers' income and ensure food and nutritional security across the globe. The year 2023 has been declared by the Government of India to be celebrated as the International Year of Millets (IVM 2023). Through this research paper, a complete description and physical structure of Millets cultivation and production in Madhya Pradesh, India will be revealed. |
