Description  A survey was conducted to collect information regarding buffalo calf management and health care practices followed by the farmers in Yanam region of Puducherry. Number of respondents selected for the study at random was 150. All the buffalo farmers were clearing mucus from nostrils of new born calves and also feeding colostrum to the calves within 2 hours of birth. Majority of the respondents were assisting weak calves to suck colostrum (95%) and deworming the calves regularly (99%) within 15 to 20 days of birth (95%) and also farmers adopted FMD and HS vaccination (86%). The constraints related to health care of buffaloes are also outlined.
