Description Mixed crop-livestock farming systems in Bolivia and Mexico are inherently complex due to the interaction between the different components within the system and their multifunctional nature where different objectives are sought through the different farming and non-farming activities to satisfy a multiplicity of goals such as income generation, food production, conservation of natural resources, risk management, autonomy, etc. This technical report describes the farm level modelling results with multiple indicators and trade-offs analysis in Mexico and Bolivia. By means of the parametrization and application in specific settings and farming systems of the FarmDESIGN model (Groot et al. 2012) the performance of different types of mixed farming systems is evaluated and the optimization of current and alternative crop-livestock systems through such farm level modelling approach will allow to identify and assess the different trade off emerging in such complex systems in both LAC countries.
