Description |
The dragging of the skin on the open upper parts of the combs and the number of bees (needles) stinging the lower part of the skin in 120 seconds were determined by using 10 × 10 cm leather to determine the level of aggression (defense) in the hive by opening the hive cover [37]. The piece of leather was dragged between the honeycomb 12 times; each pass was applied for about 10 seconds. In order to allow the expression of natural defensive behavior, the colony were not disturbed during testing.
