Description Pneumonia is one of the major killers of children under five (CU5) in Madagascar as reported by the 2010 CHERG (Child Health Epidemiology Reference Group) review of causes of global mortality, which indicates that up to one death in ten in under five in Madagascr is due to pneumonia (10.38%). This research is designed to monitor key behavioral indicators on pneumonia prevention as well as case management among CU5 at national level. Since the project is targeting rural area through community health workers, an over sampling is considered. In total 738 children under five years old with pneumonia is required for this study that need to screen about 34,952 households.The study will visit 152 Enumeration area with 82 in rural area and 70 in urban area. This study is funded by USAID and will be conducted along with the TRaC on diarrhea.
