Description |
The purpose of Annual Behavioural Tracking Survey (ABTS-I)-2008 for FSWs and High risk MSMs was to track the progress of the Mukta program on thematic areas ranging from behaviour change around safe sex to community mobilization including empowerment of HRGs in Maharashtra. It also attempted to measure the changes in patterns of substance abuse and the level of program exposure. The specific objectives of the survey were as follows: (1) To determine present status of the program performance on critical indicators; (2) To document the community needs and aspirations; (3) To measure intervention progress on key sexual behavior and supporting indicators; (4) To validate data generated through routine monitoring; (5) To collect additional information for programmatic needs; (6) To identify th e opportunity gaps in the program; and (7) To establish baseline information (especially for non-IBBA districts) to demonstrate the positive changes in future. The districts covered under the survey were Ahmednagar, Beed, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Latur, Nandurbar (only FSW), Nashik, Parbhani, Pune and Yavatmal. The survey was conducted during May-July 2008 by Pathfinder. |
