Description |
In 2010, PSI, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Somaliland, launched a series of health education sessions reaching women of reproductive age (WRA) with essential reproductive and child health information. The interpersonal communication (IPC) sessions are designed to support and connect women to safe motherhood services and products provided at MCHs in Maroodijeex, Awdal, Togdheer and Sahil regions. Objectives of the IPC strategy The objectives of the IPC strategy are the following: To increase knowledge and awareness among WRA about the benefits of antenatal care (ANC), postnatal care (PNC), infant, young child feeding (IYCF) practices, safe delivery and birth spacing; To increase the number of WRA in selected areas who utilize MCHs for ANC, PNC and safe delivery; To increase the overall demand for modern birth spacing (MBS) methods among WRA.
