Description |
With the Project Cooperation Agreement with United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), PSI/Ethiopia has implemented health and nutrition communication projects in different phases. The first communication project on promotion of Iodized salt was undertaken between March 2009 to December 2010; and the second from March 2013- June 2014; and the third from November 2014 to May, 2015. On the verge of the completion of the third phase, UNICEF and PSI/E would like to see the contribution of the intervention in increasing the uptake of iodized salt in Ethiopia, and its communication message effectiveness. Thus, the proposed progress evaluation aims to cover the last two phases of the project (since December/2010). Study targets are consumers(mothers/caregivers of under five children), salt producers, suppliers, and health care providers It has four objectives: 1. To assess effectiveness of the multi -channelled social and behavioral change intervention. 2. Assess efficiency and sustainability of the project response from the perspective of the project targets 3. To assess contribution of the project in the improvement of coverage & quality of use of Iodized salt. 4. To document main lessons learn and propose recommendations for future intervention. |
