Description |
This study consists of data collected from the children whose mothers participated in the 1951-1952 Sears, Maccoby, and Levin Patterns of Child Rearing study. This follow-up focused on the child-rearing antecedents of psychopathology in later life. It was decided that it would be helpful to have the data and the supplemental materials organized in two ways: each follow-up as a complete and separate study, and a combined file containing all waves of data. Below is listed all studies which have be conducted to date and the variables in each of them: Sears, R. Maccoby, E., and Levin, H. Patterns of Child Rearing, 1951-1952, 1958 Nowlis, D. The Child Rearing Antecedents of Hypnotic Susceptibility, 196 3-1964 Crowne, D., Conn, L., Marlowe, D., Some Developmental Antecedents of Level of and Edwards, C. Aspiration, 1965 Edwards, C. Some Developmental Antecedents of Psychopathology, 1968 McClelland, D. C. Follow-up of Patterns of Child Rearing Subjects, 1977-78 McClelland, D.C. & Franz, C. Life Patterns Project: 1987-1988 Follow-up of Patterns of Child Rearing, 1987-88 Study Variables: Sears, 1951-1952 VAR001 to VAR322 Sears, 1958 VAR323 to VAR372 Nowlis, 1963-1964 VAR373 to VAR379 Crowne, 1965 VAR380 to VAR438 Edwards, 1968 VAR439 to VAR513 McClelland, 1977-1978 VAR514 to RESPON McClelland, 1987-1988 MOWRK87 to AFFTR88 In addition to these variables, the combined data set (PATTERNS.POR) contains the following variables: SUBJID, SAMPLE58 (indicates who participated in 1958 follow-up), SAMPLE65 (indicates who participated in 1965 follow-up), SAMPLE68 (indicates who participated in 1968 follow-up), SAMPLE77 (indicates who participated in 1977-1978 follow-up), and SAMPLE88 (indicates who participated in 1987-1988 follow-up). In the individual data sets, the variable names listed above are those that are used. |
