Description |
The study sought to assess product availability and accessibility using pre-defined criteria for coverage and quality of coverage. Its goal is to increase the overall efficiency of the PACE social marketing product delivery system. The main objectives of the 2009 MAP survey were to monitor coverage and quality of coverage of PACE's socially marketed point-of-use water purification products (PUR, WaterGuard solution and WaterGuard Tabs) and Trust condoms at the national level. In addition, the study also estimated l evels of market penetration of these products by computing the proportion of outlets stocking non-PACE brands. The Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) technique was used to draw a random sample of 19 enumeration areas (EAs) from each of PACE's seven supervision areas: Kampala, Central, East -1, East -2, Southwest, West and North. The sample was further stratified into urban and rural areas. Data was collected in May-June 2009. |
