Description

Due to their professions, lifestyle, age, and other factors MARPs have increased risk of contracting HIV. PSI/Ethiopia conducted this qualitative study on selected MARP groups so as to understand the driving factors that motivate these groups to engage in concurrent partnerships. The research finding will be used as input by the USAID-funded Targeted HIV Prevention Program for launching communication messages that targets most-at-risk groups of men who are engaged in concurrent partnership in
Ethiopia. The communication message is expected to result in the target groups’ consistent and correct use of condoms as well as partner reduction.

. A total of 37 in-depth interviews were conducted out of which 27 were with men in concurrent partnerships and the remaining 10 were with men in monogamous relationship, which were used as control group so as to make comparative analysis possible.
