Description |
Contains files for individual years, 1955, 1956 and 1957 on capital expenditures. Each dataset lists capital expenditures for 3-digit and 4-digit Census manufacturing industries. Each record is uniquely associated with a particular SIC code. The records are sorted in ascending sequence by the SIC code. The 3-digit SIC codes are interspersed with the 4-digit SIC codes in this dataset. There is one record per industry in each dataset: for 1955 there are 415 industries; for 1956 there are 426 industries; and for 1957 there are 415 industries. Variables are: 1) SIC code and 2) Expenditures for new plant and equipment in ($ thousands). Data were compiled from: 1) Annual Survey of Manufactures, 1955, Chapter 9, Table 1; 2) Annual Survey of Manufactures, 1956, Chapter 2, Table 1; 3) Annual Survey of Manufactures, 1957, Chapter 2, Table 1. |
