Description |
The Canadian National Mobility Study was carried out by Statistics Canada and is similar to the 1962 and 1973 Occupational Changes in a Generation Surveys (Featherman and Hauser, 1975). The study questions were an addition to the Statistics Canada regular force survey and is focused on rates and patterns of intergenerational occupational mobility in the Canadian population. Data are available for about 45,000 non-institutionalized respondents age 18 and over. Questions include details on education and occupation of parents, family size and structure, urban-rural status, respondent's education, work history, and occupational status. Other topics cover migration and immigration, ethnicity, languages spoken, religion, marital status, and number of children.
